Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could eat all the meat, eggs, and cheese your heart desires? That’ll never happen—but it turns out these foods have a nutrient that might actually be good for your heart.

They’re all rich in vitamin K2, which may reduce calcium buildup in your arteries and lower your risk of heart disease, according to Dutch researchers. They found that women with the highest intake of K2 had 20% less calcium in their arteries than those with the lowest intake. The best sources of K2 are egg yolks and hard cheeses like feta and gouda.

I really wish you’d get your head out of the 80’s when it comes to nutritional information. I suppose you think a diet rich in starches is a healthy way to live too, right? Ohh, I meant “whole grain” (the only true whole grain is one in which the grain itself is not disturbed, i.e. seeds, anything else is a white bread dressed up in brown clothing).

No, you can’t eat all the meats and cheese and egg your heart desires, but you can get really really close when you start eating like humans were metabolically evolved to eat. And you won’t want to binge on them either once your insulin is under control from lack of sugars, excuse me I mean starches.

And if you keep following the archaic, industry influenced advice of the ADA you’ll probably continue to be at risk for any heart disease you desire…

So what DO you eat John? No grains, except seeds, I presume…no meats, cheeses, eggs? Hmmm…what does that leave? Veggies, lentils?
