Did you know popcorn is a healthy whole grain, the kind linked to lower rates of diabetes and heart disease? It’s true.
And popcorn fans will love this news, too: People who eat it every day consume 250% more whole grains and 22% more fiber than those who don’t, according to a study from the Center for Human Nutrition in Omaha, Neb.
But don’t view this as a license to pig out on “loaded” popcorn at the movies or on the couch: One tablespoon of butter adds 8 grams of artery-clogging fat and 100 calories. A little oil is better—but naked is best.

Not to be a party pooper, but the study says you’d have to eat 12 cups of popcorn to get the health benefits mentioned in this article. That’s a lot of popcorn. Additionally, this study was funded by ConAgra, makers of several popcorn products.
Take a look for yourself:

Well you are obviously not going to eat 12 cups of popcorn. And so what if the article is funded by the ConAgra? They’re a buissness-they will try to sell their product some how. I think it’s a good idea to take in no butter-salt free popcorn. It’s a better alternative than pigging out at the movie theatre.
Jordan, I think you missed the point of Lynn’s comment. The article focuses on the health benefits of popcorn, but you only obtain these benefits if you eat 12 cups, which as you stated, someone wouldn’t do.
On the other hand, because the study was funded by ConAgra, these benefits might not even be real because, once again as stated by you, they are a business and they’re trying to make money.
