It’s a few more calories, but add the Ciao Bella Mango Sorbet to some plain yogurt, vanilla flavor whey protein powder (or rice protein for our vegetarian friends), water, cardamom seeds (if you have them in your spice rack) – throw it all in your blender and you have an unbelievable post workout protein shake.
For those interested, I posted a recipe for my Mango Workout Shake on my blog – http://healthhabits.wordpress.com/2008/06/03/an-unbelievably-great-post-workout-shake/
I’ve been on the South Beach diet for about 2 months
but with summer fruits around, he wants us to stay clear of watermelon and pineapple and I’m going crazy! I’m also trying not to crave carbs like pretzels, but I find I’m missing them so much. Your watermelon treats sound so healthy, but since they turn to sugars so fast, South Beach has a problem with them.
I don’t know even 1 person (not even a child) that would only eat 1/4 cup of ice cream of sorbet. That’s just not realistic.
hi my name is britney and i want to lose wight rest my life.
and what’s with the coldstone sample spoons? who goes to coldstone just to taste three sample spoons and then goes home?
Watermelon is such a naturally sweet fruit…there’s NO need to add more sweetness to it. (especially sugar) Also, low cal is great, but the contents of food are even more important…and one of the biggest culprits is dairy…creates mucous in your intestines and contributes to (especially if pasteurized) cellulite on your body. Stevia, agave, goat and sheep milk…just a glorious delectable piece of in-season organic fruit is preferable if you want low cal plus great nutrition benefits.
Of course, cleansing and/or getting away from the sweet fix altogether(if it’s a regular craving…perhaps the sweetness in the rest of life is missing?) stands not only your weight prognosis in good stead, but also the future of your collagen…as in aging skin and general collagen breakdown…which forms the connective tissue in your whole body.
Mostly unrealistic except maybe the watermelon drink.
Cold Stone must LOVE you; like they are in business for us to come in and take advantage of there willingness to let us try before buying! There have to be better ideas out there!!
2 teaspoons of sugar on 10 grapes? I did not know that grapes needed sugar.
The most heart-healthy ice cream option is the incredibly delicious and rich-seeming Breyer’s Fat Free. They’re double-churn French chocolate is truly to die for. Excellent!!!
I have lost 50 pounds and I eat potatoes everyday. Don’t fear them, southbeechers. WATERMELON: I am eating it daily since it’s in season. I have not gained an ounce. In fact, I’m losing weight consistently each week. Natural whole foods aren’t the enemy.
Is this for real? This advice is not practical or realistic. You expect someone to have 3 tastings at Coldstone and then walk out? How dumb.
Arctic Zero ice cream is 36 calories per 1/4 cup! It’s fat free, gluten free, lactose intolerant friendly, all natural, no sugar alcohols, and it has a ton of protein in it. No empty calories at all. Their website is http://www.myarcticzero.com
It’s available in Whole Food Stores; my local store didn’t carry it at the time but I bugged them until they started carrying it.
Arctic zero? Isn’t that the stuff the celebrities eat?
