Hello,

I have recently become an advocate of healthy eating but I must admit, I will cheat every now and than, but not much. I subscribe to Mens Health magazine and newsletters such as Environmental Nutrition and other publications that endorse healthy eating and what brands/foods to watch out for. Reading the comments, I can concur with one of the comments that Eat This, Not That is a superb publication in assisting us to make healthy choices. Reading your list of restaurants that you deem "healthy", like most of your readers, I was also surprised at most of the restaurants that made your list of the best healthy overall. I questioned PF Changs, Olive Garden, but certainly Macaroni Grill. I never ate at Macaroni Grill but as I said, reading my publications, they picked MG as one of the worst restaurants to eat at and they said nothing positive about anything on their menu, basically, avoid the place at all cost. But with many places to eat, it is very difficult to know which is best and as one reader said, we as consumers should use this list as a starting point and take it upon ourself to do more research. I think at any restaurant or should I say most, there is a chance you can find something healthy on the menu. As I mentioned, in most of my publications I subscribe to, you can ask questions about restaurant critiques you heard elsewhere such as on this site. They are independent and have no bias and I usually feel confident about their research and remarks. In closing, as consumers no matter what we hear or read, it is our body and we have to make the final judgement.

Here are a list of publications I recommend subscribing to:
* Health & Nutrition Letter - 8 Page Publication
* Environmental Nutrition - 8 Page Publication
* Nutrition Action Newsletter - 18 Page Publication
* Eat This, Not That - (This can be purchased at your local bookstore)
I have the first publication of Eat This, Not That, but I they have since put out another. The writer was featured this week on The Drs. I found my copy in Barnes & Noble.

On a final note, the subscriptions are not that much, about $15.00 will get you 20 to 24 issues.

PF Chang's recently informed me that they are discontinuing their healthy Alaskan Salmon and will serve the lower quality, mercury laden Atlantic Salmon.....it is a shame. When will restaurants really focus on healthy eating instead of cheap eating. Tell PF Chang's to keep the healthy salmon.

I couldn't agree more about the eat-this-not-that book, it's awesome. As for this "Healthiest Restaurants" list, what a crock. I wonder if those restaurants sponsored the "research".

The irony for many of these is the lack of healthy selections on kid's menus. Pony up restaurants, what is taking so long?

Now, now...Let's be PC...instead of using the "retarded" word....Let's just say that they are "mentally challenged" to even think that they have "healthy eating" at some of these places. We just have to use common sense when choosing a restaurant & make sure we don't eat there all the time. Once in a while is OK..

I want to try Sweettomatoes out for SURE! Where are they? And does every restuarant have that beautiful salad bar? I have always wanted to go to a place with a salad bar, being that I am vegan. I love Ruby Tuesday's salad bar...and when I go with whoever else they can order their "normal" food. but going to the same place really does get old.

I do not understand why some people get some upset by this list. PF Changs is one of the best. Why bash it? For the type food unless you can find more authentic chinese it is the best you have. Authentic chinese is hard to come by and way better for you. If you don't know don't bash it. Ruby's is not so bad as you CAN eat healthy. Same for Olive Garden. You are able to find a healthy dish. Denny's, I am not sure about this. I don't eat this food and if I eat breakfast it was because I cooked it and I use brown eggs. As for the ignorant oganic comment, you only need organic meats. I know someone who bought organic syrup and all I could do was... shake my head. Don't be ignorant. Use your head when you are at a resturant and that is what the topic was all about.
