Does Your Grocery Store Look Dirty? Then it Probably Is.

Your eyes will tell you a lot, says food-safety expert Jeffrey Nelken. If your store looks dirty, it probably is. Grocery stores are inspected two to three times a year by community health departments, although inspection standards vary by state. Your health department likely posts grocery-inspection results in their offices and may also post them online. If you’re concerned, ask.
